The Four Walls that changed it all: My next chapter.

Arriving in Honolulu, felt like arriving in paradise. I had heard the term ‘aloha living’ but never understood it until I stepped foot into this beautiful space. Almost instantly, I felt at home. I felt at peace. Little did I know the impact this amazing island would have on me!

The becoming of more than just another photography spot

What I initially thought it’d take a couple of months for me to start to take traction, took 3 weeks. Little by little I saw growth and started doing more research to find a place that felt more aligned with my art. This is how I met Leila with Ember Media (who ended up becoming an amazing friend), and she led me to meet Adam & Jennifer with LNW Enterprises. Despite the many locations I saw, the moment I locked eyes with the historical red brick walls, beautiful natural light coming from the elongated historical windows, mirrors all around, I immediately knew this was my studio. Two years of being a photographer, and this was my very first studio that I had always dreamed of having!

What started off as a space to capture beautiful, intimate moments, became a safe space for women to feel and just be. This is where my first events such as the Galentine’s PJs & Lingerie Party and my annual Halloween Boo-doir Party was born, gathering women to celebrate ourselves. Where I learned the importance of having an ‘ohana. A space where many stories were told. Where couples embraced their love for one another. Where the transformation in someone’s life took place. The room that captured the transformation into motherhood, bringing a beautiful little life into their little family.

It’s “just a studio”

While one may say it’s “just a studio”, this is where she finally saw herself with confidence and loving eyes, that she couldn’t even believe the women she was seeing on the screen was her. This was the studio where after so many years of giving herself to her roles as a wife, as a mother, she learned to allow herself to let go and find herself again. This is where she had wanted to bring a vision to life for so long, and finally it came to life. The space where she learned to love her smile again.

This wasn’t “just a studio”. It was the very four walls that so many trusted me in allowing themselves to be vulnerable.

This isn’t good-bye

With all the long nights that I spent here, the laughter, the tears, the hugs, and all the things in between, I’m so grateful for having a space to hold it all. While my home-base may now be in Denver, Colorado, this is not a good-bye. Oahu will always hold a special place in my heart, so I will return on dedicated dates throughout the year. With my goal of wanting to help as many as I can through the emotive moments that come with Boudoir & Couples photography, I’ll continue doing so by opening this new chapter at my new home in Denver. Growing the community and creating together. So, for now with all my love, see you soon, Hawai’i.
